Now that you are looking at America through a European lens, what strikes you most?

Answer: That so many Europeans see America as somehow sad or ridiculous. That Americans are so obsessed with money and power that they sacrifice their health, their families and their friendships for them.

I am much more aware now of how much stress Americans simply accept as normal. When you live somewhere that encourages a slower and more intentional way of life, you start asking yourself whether every aspect of that American pace is really necessary
